PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Rio Rancho, New Mexico

Take your nursing expertise to the next level in a progressive stepdown unit at a leading medical center. This is a contract position within a dynamic Progressive Care Unit (PCU) located at a dedicated heart hospital, offering flexibility and valuable experience for nursing professionals.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 4x12-hour shifts (18:30 – 07:00)
• Option for either 36 or 48 hours per week
• Rotating weekends as needed
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications (CPI preferred)
• Cardiovascular nursing experience is required
• 1+ years recent stepdown or PCU experience (2 years preferred)
• EPIC documentation system proficiency is an asset
• Open to first-time travel nurses

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality care to patients in a 55-bed stepdown unit
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, prioritizing safety and attention to detail
• Respond flexibly to floating requirements based on unit needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document and communicate patient care in EPIC

• No specific scrub color requirement (logos not permitted)
• No on-call requirement
• Vacation/time-off requests considered per facility guidelines
