Stepdown RN - Rio Rancho, New Mexico

This contract position offers the opportunity to work nights within a specialized cardiovascular environment, providing high-quality care to stepdown patients and expanding your expertise on a 55-bed unit.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts, 4x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00)
• Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend shifts as needed, on a rotating basis
• Block scheduling available case by case

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of stepdown nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC documentation system preferred
• Open to first-time travelers and local travelers

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown/PCU setting
• Monitor and manage patient status using critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Safely manage a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Float between units as needed, supporting diverse patient populations
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain detailed, accurate documentation using EPIC
• Follow hospital guidelines, including appropriate scrub attire (no-logo scrubs, any color)
