PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Rio Rancho, New Mexico

An exciting contract opportunity awaits experienced Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care in a progressive stepdown (PCU) setting. Nurses in this role support a 55-bed unit focused on cardiovascular patients and are instrumental in maintaining superior patient outcomes through collaborative teamwork and clinical expertise.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts: 4x12-hour (18:30 - 07:00)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: As needed, rotating
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Floating to related units required as needed
• No on-call requirement

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a stepdown or PCU setting (2 years preferred)
• Cardiovascular stepdown experience required
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (mandatory), CPI preferred
• EPIC documentation experience desirable
• Open to first-time travelers
• Local travelers considered

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to stepdown-level cardiovascular patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patients’ conditions using EPIC
• Respond effectively to rapid changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care
• Float to other units within scope of practice as required
• Maintain professional standards and adherence to safety protocols
• Utilize flexibility to meet rotating weekend and varied schedule needs
