Stepdown Registered Nurses play a critical role in providing specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to general care. This contract position focuses on monitoring patient conditions, delivering complex nursing interventions, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compassion throughout each shift.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position; schedule details will be discussed during the interview process.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or similar setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of patient monitoring, cardiac drips, and advanced life support.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients in stepdown units, ensuring ongoing evaluations and adjustments as patient needs change.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, titrate medication drips, and respond rapidly to emergencies.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Accurately document all aspects of nursing care and patient responses.
- Adhere to evidence-based practices and hospital protocols.
