An opportunity is available for an experienced RN to provide specialized care in a fast-paced Cardiac Stepdown unit within a 14-bed, progressive care environment. This role is geared toward a compassionate, communicative professional who can adapt to changing patient needs and maintain high standards of care in a multidisciplinary setting. The position is a 13 to 26-week contract with night shifts and a weekly commitment of 36 hours. Weekend coverage is expected on an every-other-weekend basis. Flu vaccination is mandatory from November 1 to April 1, with exceptions as approved.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts
- 36 weekly guaranteed hours
- Every other full weekend required
- Up to five requested days off per 13-week period can be approved
Qualifications:
- Active RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Stepdown nursing experience
- Must have strong EPIC EMR skills
- Demonstrated experience working with heart, lung, and vascular progressive care patients
- Team-oriented with excellent communication and prioritization skills
- Dedicated to delivering compassionate, quality care
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EPIC
- Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and allied team members for optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including medication and treatment interventions
- Educate patients and families on disease management, self-care, and discharge processes
- Adhere to established infection control, safety, and quality standards
- Float as needed within scope, providing coverage in related units
