Immerse yourself in a supportive hospital environment where you’ll care for a dynamic cardiac and med-surg patient population in a 33-bed stepdown unit, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and refining your leadership and assessment skills.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians, strengthen critical thinking, and enhance your resume with specialized patient care—particularly in cardiac telemetry, vascular, and post-procedural interventions. Exposure to unique workplace standards and evidence-based protocols will further your professional adaptability and resilience.

Schedule:

  • 13-week assignment
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required

Required skills and experience:

  • Current RN license (Ohio or compact state)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience, with at least 6 months in acute care preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification (required or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided)
  • Experience in stepdown, PCU, or telemetry units strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Comfort with cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin) and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters, trachs, BiPAP, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Epic EHR (preferred)

Key responsibilities:

  • Holistic and ongoing patient assessments; develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
  • Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
  • Interpret and verify telemetry strips
  • Act as a patient advocate, participating in interdisciplinary care and family support
  • Respond confidently to urgent situations and rapidly evolving patient conditions
  • Mentor and provide education to peers as needed
