Location: Monroe, WI

Caseload: 6-7 students, Autism

Grade Level: Early Childhood-Kindergarten (EC-K)

Contract: August 12th, 2024 - May, 2025

Hours per Week: 37.5

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher, currently licensed in Wisconsin, for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will focus on serving students with significant developmental delay and Autism in an Early Childhood-Kindergarten (EC-K) setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young learners, experience in special education, and the ability to provide individualized support to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, focusing on academic, social, and behavioral goals.
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique learning styles and needs of each student on the caseload.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both inclusive and specialized settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student support.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, supported, and engaged in learning.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share student progress, discuss concerns, and collaborate on strategies for support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification in Early Childhood Special Education (EC cert for WI).
  • Experience working with students with significant developmental delay and Autism preferred.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
