Special Education Teacher (High School) - Contract Position

Position Details:

• Hours: Full-Time (School Hours)
• Caseload: 15-20 High School Students
• Grade Level: High School
• Location: Onsite

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract position at our high school in Maine. The selected candidate will serve as both a case manager and teacher for a caseload of 15-20 students with mild to moderate disabilities. These students primarily have specific learning disabilities, particularly in reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities:

• Case management for a designated group of students
• Provide specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math
• Collaborate with general education teachers to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Implement supplemental services to support students in general education classes
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• State licensure in Special Education (ME)
• Clearances as required by the state
