Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Utah. This position is for a contract role for the academic year, with guaranteed hours and a quick interview and hiring process. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the education and development of our high school students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student on your case load.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student success.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and interventions in accordance with IEPs and school policies.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid State of Utah teaching license/certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse needs.
