Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher in the Tulsa, OK area. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high school students in special education settings, with the ability to provide direct instruction, co-teaching support, and individualized support as needed. This position may involve teaching high school special education science classes and possibly middle school special education classes as well.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in high school special education science classes.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach inclusive classrooms and provide support for students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, including accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure student success.
• Provide support and assistance to students in developing academic and social skills.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to support student learning and development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate with appropriate special education endorsement.
• Experience working with high school students in special education settings.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
