Job Title: Special Education Teacher - Mild/Moderate and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Contract Type: Contract Position

SPED Need: Mild/Moderate (NSY), K-8th Grade

About Us: [School Name] is dedicated to providing exceptional education to our diverse student body, which includes 21 mild/moderate special education students and 3 students with higher needs in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our team of 5 dedicated support staff works collaboratively to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student in accordance with state guidelines and best practices.
  • Create differentiated instruction plans to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small group and individual settings.
  • Collaborate with support staff, general education teachers, and parents to support student progress and success.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to address behavioral, social, and academic needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, goals, and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Montana State Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with mild/moderate disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education, including IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
