Description:

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Dubuque, IA, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within the operating room setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the manager, you will be responsible for various tasks aimed at ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during surgical procedures.
2. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols to minimize the risk of complications.
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and assist the surgical team as needed throughout procedures.
4. Administer medications and anesthesia as prescribed by the attending physician.
5. Provide patient education regarding preoperative and postoperative care instructions.
6. Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
7. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
8. Maintain proficiency in operating room procedures and equipment usage.

Schedule:

- Shifts: 3/12s, day shift (7:00 am - 7:30 pm)
- Occasional flexibility to work evenings if required
- Some weekends and holiday coverage may be necessary

Qualifications:

- Valid RN license in the state of Iowa
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in an operating room setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
