Special Education Teachers Near Plymouth, Wisconsin

Our elementary school is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students with special needs. You will work with a caseload of 8 to 10/12 students, providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload.
• Provide instruction and support in various subject areas, adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals, including paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Utilize a push-in model of instruction, providing support within the general education classroom as needed.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
• Support students with behavioral needs by implementing appropriate strategies for de-escalation, including taking walks, breaks, or providing opportunities for cooling down as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
