Description:
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in Philadelphia, PA. This flexible role primarily involves working 1:1 with a 2nd-grade student but may also include small group teaching (1-2 students) and providing individual support within the general education classroom. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with limited Special Education (SPED) experience, as the role does not require managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a 2nd-grade student with special needs.
- Conduct small group teaching sessions with 1-2 students, focusing on academic skills and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction.
- Assist in developing and implementing tailored learning plans based on student needs.
- Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and support staff about student progress.
- Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements:
- Pennsylvania Special Education certification or emergency certification (support available for emergency certification).
- Pennsylvania clearances, including background checks and child abuse clearances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff to meet student needs.
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to supporting elementary students with special needs.

Additional Information:
This position offers weekly pay at a rate of $40 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits. The contract runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with the possibility of renewal for the following year.
