Position: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teacher

Job Type: Contracted position for the 2023-2024 school year


  • Grades: To be determined (TBD)
  • Setting: Self-contained classroom environment
  • Class Size: Maximum of 7 students per program
    • Support: Paraprofessional and social worker assistance provided

Responsibilities: As an ASD Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and implementing specialized educational programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Utilizing teaching strategies tailored to meet the academic, developmental, and functional needs of students.
  • Collaborating with paraprofessionals, social workers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Conducting and interpreting academic assessments to guide individualized instruction.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with students, peers, parents, and the community.


  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Special Education with an endorsement
  • ASD certification
    • Proficiency in Common Core State Standards and strategies for student needs
    • Competency in administering and interpreting academic tests
    • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
    • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
    • Certification in CPI (or willingness to obtain and maintain yearly)
    • Willingness to undergo training in applied behavior analysis
