Apply NowA reputable contract agency is actively seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join a dynamic school district near New Britain, CT. The position offers full-time employment, comprising 37.5/40 hours per week, with an immediate start date and continuation until the end of the school year. Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech Language Pathologists in providing speech and language therapy services to students across various grade levels.
- Collaborate with the educational team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals.
- Support students in speech and language activities, both in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages communication development.
- Assist in conducting assessments to determine students' speech and language needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and reports.
- Work with students to improve articulation, fluency, and language comprehension.
- Support students with diverse communication needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Assistant or a related field.
- Previous experience working with students in an educational or therapeutic setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for supporting students in their communication development.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPs, teachers, and other professionals.
- Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized for maintaining thorough documentation.
Employment Type: Full-Time (35-40 hours per week)
