A reputable contract agency is actively seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join a dynamic school district near New Britain, CT. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide vital support to students across various grade levels with caseloads averaging 40-50 students. The position offers full-time employment, comprising 37.5/40 hours per week, with an immediate start date and continuation until the end of the school year. Responsibilities:

  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists in providing speech and language therapy services to students across various grade levels.
  • Collaborate with the educational team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals.
  • Support students in speech and language activities, both in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages communication development.
  • Assist in conducting assessments to determine students' speech and language needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and reports.
  • Work with students to improve articulation, fluency, and language comprehension.
  • Support students with diverse communication needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Assistant or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with students in an educational or therapeutic setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for supporting students in their communication development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPs, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized for maintaining thorough documentation.

Employment Type: Full-Time (35-40 hours per week)

Duration: ASAP Start - End of school year

Caseload: Various grade levels, averaging 40 - 50 students
